# About

Odds Observer was created to help people work out where the odds are best. The same match can pay noticeably more at one bookmaker than at another, and checking a dozen sites by hand takes time. We collect the odds for you and show the best price for every outcome on one page.

## Why it matters

A difference in odds is a difference in payout. A 10 € stake at 2.10 returns 21 €; at 1.95 it returns 19.50 €. Over many bets, always taking the best available price is one of the few things a bettor fully controls.

## How to read a page

- Each event card shows the best price for every outcome and the bookmaker that offers it.
- On an event page, "Payout at best odds" is the share of the stake returned on average if you took every outcome at its best price. 100% would be a fair book; above 100% is an arbitrage.
- The bookmaker table lists each bookmaker's prices and its margin: the lower the margin, the more of the stake goes back to bettors.
- Result (1X2 or winner), totals and handicaps are compared line by line; the main line comes first.
- Arrows mark prices that moved recently, and the fair odds row shows Pinnacle's prematch prices without its margin.

## Coverage and freshness

We compare football, basketball, tennis, ice hockey, volleyball, MMA, baseball, cricket, esports and American football across many bookmakers. Prematch odds are refreshed about every 5 minutes and live odds about every 20 seconds. Prices can still change before you place a bet, so always check them on the bookmaker's site. See [how we compare odds](https://odds.observer/methodology) for details.

## What we are not

Odds Observer does not accept bets and is not affiliated with any bookmaker. Links to bookmakers take you to their own sites, where their terms apply. Betting is for adults (18+) only.
